ECW started like a underground cult. With a small budget,great booking and a core audience it grew into a Phenom! A era that
would soon want to be torn down my every major company.
WCW:Every time Paul had a good idea,Eric Bischoff would take it away. In the begining WCW actually worked with ECW to
settle lawsuits. Kevin Sullivan was a friend of Paul's and he left to WCW,while Kevin's wife Nancy Sullivan aka "Woman"
would be in ECW managing the likes of The Sandman and Too Cold Scorpio. Cactus Jack under WCW contract came into ECW for a
show and spit on the WCW Tag Team title,which he was a co-holder of. He was cutting a promo for his match against Sabu. He
says,he was putting over the title but it still got him heat. Soon enough,WCW would grab Paul E. talent. Eddie Guerrereo,Chris
Benoit & Dean Malenko. While WWE was signing Shane Douglas. Paul bring Rey Misterio & Psicosis. Eric Bischoff took
them away. Perry Saturn,Raven,Stevie Richards,soon more and more were jumping ship to WCW or at times WWE. For everyone that
a major company took. A few superstars came in. Rick Rude,Sid Vicious,Scott Hall,Jerry Lynn,One Man Gang,Tommy Rick,Ricky
Morton,Tracey Smothers,Chris Candido,Bam Bam Bigelow and Brian Lee to name a few. Superstars were made and there storyline
was told-Tommy Dreamer,The Sandman,The Dudleys, Raven,Rob Van Dam,Shane Douglas,Sabu and Taz. Rumors revealed head office-Tod
Gordon made a deal with WCW and was soon released by the company. Those that could,stayed to the end. Those that didn't like
the new places,came back.
WWE:Vince did help ECW. Yes,he hurt them as well. But he also gave back. Exposure on there show. A angle with Jerry Lawler.
Talent to get over. ECW took WWE's creative team and made Aldo Montoya into Justin Credible. They made Al Snow and his head.
WWE took the stalking off of Terry Funk's head and have Funk & Cactus. Hardcore title was created in both WWE and WCW.
Women were getting hit and wrestling men. Beer was being drank by Steve Austin and the NWO. Three Way Dances became a common.
Swearing was becoming more common as well. Before Ring of Honor shook hands,ECW did it first. Before tables were broken on
Nitro,ECW did it first. Before beer drinking,cane-shooting,figure pointing become a Monday night epic.....ECW DID IT FIRST!
